Personal Work

Gameboy Camera

Released in 1998, the Nintendo GameBoy Camera was revolutionary, introducing digital photography to the masses at an accessible price. A staggering 0.014 megapixels and a simple 2-bit grayscale palette seem laughably constrained, but these limitations are precisely what make it a fascinating creative tool. It’s a tangible piece of technological history, one that instantly transports me back into my youth when I used to own one. This evolving project celebrates that nostalgia, using the camera not just to record light, but to capture a unique time traveler perspective that reshapes how we view the modern world.

Much of my work has always been driven by the idea that the camera you use fundamentally changes the way you see. Shooting with the GameBoy Camera strips away the modern need for high resolution, instead emphasizing composition, light, and moments you can understand with just a few pixels. This series explores themes of travel, nature, observation, and daily life, proving that creativity thrives when given a compelling set of constraints such as 0.014 megapixels.

Background

Biography

I am a Video Editor and Digital Artist with 20+ years in photography and post-processing, 7+ years of professional video editing, and 4+ years as a senior agency lead. My creative approach, deeply informed by an MFA in Photography, merges fine-art intuition with custom-built automated workflows and modern AI pipelines. This allows me to bring a distinct, systematized visual perspective to every project.

My personal work has been exhibited in galleries across the East Coast, featured in solo performances, and published in FRAMES Magazine. My current practice sits at the intersection of the analog and the digital, blending low-tech toy cameras and experimental optics with super-weird editing and custom automated actions to explore the possibilities of imagery.
